Granada

This was the highlight of our trip. All the rain, the expense, the trials.... EVERYTHING was worth the day we spent at Alhambra, Granada. Although my world travel is limited, I still got a sense that there is absolutely nothing like this on the planet. It is a walled Moorish city of palaces, watchtowers, gardens and walkways. Downtown Granada is also home to a spectacular cathedral which was the icing on the cake as we walked back down the mountain from Alhambra in the late afternoon and popped in for a look. I'm at the Barcelona airport right night needing to send a few emails and paying 5 Euro for 1/2 hour, so I will just post the Alhambra pictures on my leftover time here and save the rest of the trip til later - posted from my laptop while sitting happily in front of the woodburning stove with my feet on top of a happy sleeping dog. Our flight leaves in an hour. Oh, Canada! I'm clicking my heels, "There's no place like home".
